We only have two tiers of phone insurance – each designed to give you all the protection you need. That includes cover against mechanical breakdown, liquid damage and loss. We cover pretty much any type of modern day phone you can think of! All we ask is that your device is less than one year old and was purchased new from a UK manufacturer or retailer. If your phone is a refurb, then it must have been purchased with a 12-month warranty. Oh and remember: we cover laptops, tablets and other shiny stuff too.
These days, phone accessories like headphones can be expensive pieces of kit in their own right. The good news is that we cover accessories up to the value of £150 – provided it’s been approved to use with your phone.
If your phone is lost, stolen or irreparable, we will aim to send you a replacement – within around 48 hours of your claim being approved. We aim to replace like with like: same make, same model. If that’s not possible, we’ll guarantee the same brand of operating system and make sure the phone’s specs stack up favourably against your previous device. All of our replacement phones are professional refurbishments. They function as new and come with a twelve-month warranty. Your policy with us will automatically update to cover your replacement phone.
Maybe. But phones listed on home insurance or contents insurance are often only covered for theft or damage, but not loss and breakdown. Making a claim on your home or contents insurance is also likely to increase your premium in future years. With Loops there’s no penalty for making a claim.
If your phone is less than 60 days old, your cover will begin as soon as it’s purchased. For phones that are more than 60 days old, you won’t be able to make a claim until the first 14 days of your policy have elapsed.
We can only cover phones and devices that are less than a year old. You can also get cover for a refurbished phone assuming it was bought with a minimum 12-month warranty that is still valid. If you are renewing insurance with a phone that was insured with us previously, the age limit does not apply – providing there was no break in insurance.
If your gadget was gifted to you, we would need to see proof of purchase – e.g. a cash receipt or a gift receipt – before you were able to make a claim.
You may have more than one phone. Or perhaps you have a laptop or tablet that is not currently insured. With Loops you can add as many gadgets as you like to your policy – and we will give you a 10% discount on the premium of each additional gadget that you cover with us. The more you insure, the more you save.
If you are sharing a house with family members or a spouse, you can insure their phones and gadgets on your policy – and their devices count towards your multi-gadget discount (see above). It’s a great way to reduce the overall cost of making sure everyone in your household has their tech insured.

We will send you all the important paperwork by email for you to store on your computer or print at home. We can also post your policy documents to any UK address on request.
That’s fine! There’s a 14-day grace period after you have purchased your policy, during which you can cancel your policy and get a full refund – no questions asked. If you have made a claim we will not be able to refund any premium and if you are paying monthly you must still pay us the remaining annual premium. If you cancel your direct debit this does not mean that you have cancelled your policy.
You don’t have to worry about your policy expiring and being left without cover. We will contact you at least 30 days before your policy is coming up for renewal.
We can only settle claims against the phone named on your policy. But if you get a new phone, you can update your policy to make sure your new phone is covered in your online account or by calling our customer service team on 0345 812 0041. There may be a small change to your premium depending on the make and model of the phone you would like to insure.

Yes, you can. Just give our customer service team a call on 0345 812 0041. If you change your mind within 14 days of purchasing your policy, you can get a full refund on your premium. After that you can still cancel anytime – and get a pro rata refund on your premium, provided you have not made a claim. If you pay monthly your cover will terminate at the end of the month you have most recently paid for – unless you have claimed on your policy, in which case you will need to pay the remaining annual premium before you can cancel your cover. This is to prevent fraudulent claims.

Yes, in the event of a claim you will need to provide the original receipt/delivery note for the purchase of the phones, gadgets or accessories for which you are claiming. It’s why we recommend uploading these documents to your secure online area as soon as possible. So – if needed – you can make a speedy claim instead of searching for paperwork. Yes, we charge an excess on claims to help keep premiums lower for everyone. The amount you have to pay will be either £75, £100 or £150 – depending on which option you chose when arranging your cover.
